What is DUTCH testing?
DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) is an advanced lab test that measures sex hormones, adrenal function, and related metabolites. Unlike standard bloodwork, DUTCH testing provides a complete picture of how your body is producing and metabolizing hormones throughout the day.
What does it measure?
Cortisol & Stress Response – shows your daily cortisol rhythm and how stress impacts your body.
Sex Hormones – estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and their breakdown pathways.
Melatonin – your sleep/wake hormone.
Organic Acids – markers that give insight into energy, mood, and nutritional status.
Who is it for?
DUTCH testing may be helpful if you experience:
Fatigue or burnout
Sleep problems
Mood changes or brain fog
Irregular cycles, PMS, or perimenopause symptoms
Low libido or fertility struggles
Weight changes that don’t make sense
Difficulty managing stress
Why choose DUTCH testing?
Unlike basic hormone labs, DUTCH testing shows both levels and patterns—helping us understand not just what your hormones are, but how they’re working in your body. This allows us to create personalized treatment plans with targeted lifestyle, supplement, and medical interventions.
How does it work?
Testing is simple and done at home:
Collect small dried urine samples on filter paper at different times of the day.
Send the samples to the lab in the provided prepaid envelope.
Review your results with our provider, who will explain what they mean for your health and next steps.
What’s next?
At Freedom Medical Center, we use DUTCH testing as part of a functional and integrative approach. If your hormones are out of balance, we’ll partner with you to restore energy, mood, sleep, and overall well-being. Just book a Health Optimization Visit and we will talk through the rest!
